Buhari takes me as a brother, treats me like a son, says Osinbajo

ABUJA-In a manner that apparently portrays an affinity between them, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has said that President Muhammadu Buhari sees him as a brother and also treats him like his son.

He spoke in Katsina, the home state of President Buhari on Thursday while launching the State’s version of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise, MSMEs clinic.

Osinbajo’s latest position has overtly countered the perception in some quarters that there may not be any love lost between him and his boss following the wording of a recent letter the President wrote to the National Assembly, announcing a transfer of power to him (Osinbajo).

President Buhari had on Sunday at the verge of his departure to London for a follow-up on his medicals written to the National Parliament, informing the lawmakers of his trip abroad in the fulfillment of Section 145 of the 1999 constitution.

While many expected the president to categorically state that Osinbajo would “act” in his stead, the President in the letter said that his vice will “coordinate” the activities of government in his absence. The development didn’t sink well to many and has consequently elicited concerns across the nation.

But in a series of tweets @akandeoj yesterday, the spokesman to the Acting President, Laolu Akande quoted Osinbajo as saying that President Buhari has assigned him many responsibilities outside treating him like a son. The remarks were however a response to the benign and hospital words of the Emir of Katsina to Osinbajo who had said “Here you are home, welcome to the most peaceful state”. We all sit together side by side”, during the launch.

Responding Osinbajo said: “I feel very much @home in KT. Moreso because this is the State of the President who has taken me as a brother.” “In fact, the President has taken me as a son in the way he treats me”. “The amount of responsibilities President Buhari has given me shows he seriously believes we can live together as brothers”.

“I pray the Lord will preserve our President to continue to lead as the nation has voted him to do. He seriously believes in Nigeria's unity.”

The New ‘Human-Dog’, A Cross Breeding Between Humans & Dogs NOTICE:- We personally don’t believe this but after serious Google searching, It seems the Cross between Human & Dogs by the Americans is real… Read along. Scientists have created a hybrid life form called ‘Human-Dog’, a cross between humans and dogs, to entertain/cater for super-rich people who like collecting unique pets. Dr. William Bateman, 43, one of the scientists who created these human hybrids explains: “There is only so much you can buy as a person who has it all.” However, animal rights groups are up in arms, as Paul Cross, 27, activist with the Animal Defense League said, “If one my children saw these creatures, they’d be scared half to death. Imagine one of them s*cking on your toes, in a dark alley.” According to Dr Bateman, the advantage of having these Human-Dog hybrids is that, “They’re very intelligent and unique and they can also communicate, as their vocal ...
BOKO HARAM EXECUTES EIGHT PEOPLE IN THE NORTH FOR KICKING AGAINST SHARIA LAW Boko Haram militants in Nigeria executed eight villagers in the West African country after they allegedly tried to fight off the group’s hardline Islamic police. A video released by the Islamist group showed eight people blindfolded and lying face down. A man in a white turban told a crowd that the people were “apostates [who] have left the fold of Islam.” Four masked gunmen shot the people at close range as the crowd cheered, AFP reported on Tuesday. Boko Haram—which means “Western education is forbidden”—launched a war against the Nigerian government in 2009. It has since killed tens of thousands and displaced millions in a bid to create an extremist caliphate in northeast Nigeria. The man in the turban said that the eight people who were executed had threatened to fight Boko Haram’s so-called Sharia police, who enforce the group’s hardline interpretation of Islamic law. Boko Haram has previo...

Lola Omolola Created A Safe Space For Women On Facebook With 'Female In Nigeria'

Lola Omolola Created A Safe Space For Women On Facebook With 'Female In Nigeria' As much as we hope for an open and accepting society, this is sadly not true for many people, especially for those in marginalized communities. Everyone wants to be comfortable within their surroundings: being able to fully express their thoughts and feelings without judgement. And this is where safe spaces come in. Safe spaces are communities – either online or off – where bigotry and oppressive views are not tolerated. They are controlled environments in which people can discuss certain issues and support one another. The need for a safe space for Nigerian women is what led Lola Omolola to create the Females In Nigeria Facebook group – a secret group which has grown, in two years, to have over a million members sharing their stories and supporting one another.                Lola and Mark Zuckerberg    (Photo:  Mark Zuckerberg/ Facebook ) ...
